It’s a joy to return to the convention circuit once again this year. Throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut I’ll teach a variety of classes including audition prep, improvisation, musical theater, tap dance, and musicality + rhythm classes (accompanied by live music!)

I’m excited to provide classes, industry education, and adjudication to DECAdance Competition & “un”convention this summer. I’ll run the Title portion of their Nationals Competition as well as serve on the judging panel for their National Dance-Off. In July, I’ll provide improvisation and industry networking classes for their annual post-season celebration event that supports dancers in getting their face out into the dance industry.

To close out 2023, I wore ribbons down my back and fell in love with Cornelius Hackl at Susquehanna Stage Company in Marietta, Pennsylvania. My hats defied science, my dresses defied the rules of lace and frills. To play Irene Molloy with this wonderful cast was such a delight and I’m so grateful that Jerry Herman was part of my 2023.

Upon wrapping the dance competition season with Impact Dance Adjudicators, I joined the wardrobe team as a dresser for The Prom at Ephrata Performing Arts Center, a theater near and dear to my heart from my teenage years performing in central Pennsylvania. During this contract when time allowed, I was guest teaching across New Jersey and Pennsylvania!

In August & September 2022, I returned home to Kona (Big Island, Hawai’i) for five weeks to offer students my signature PROgram! Built to support my students’ love of Production Number classes, vocal lessons and dance technique, The PROgram is a restorative, interpersonal, carefully crafted performing arts experience that supports mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health, concluding in an intimate performance for family and friends. The PROgram includes choreography, conditioning, and music that students feel challenged by and hopefully inspired to continue to work on long after class.

I traveled often this spring to adjudicate dance competitions and provide empowering critiques for multi-genre, multi-aged conventions. I’ve loved meeting new colleagues every weekend and witnessing young dancers take the stage after a difficult two years without consistent access to classes and performances.

After Luna and I left Hawai’i, we made our way cross country in a 2002 Suburu Outback and spent the fall in Portland, OR which has become a special home away from home for us. We’re now floating between Philly, South Jersey, and NYC where I can freelance as a creative and as a performer once again. We’re so happy to reconnect with our roots after a decade in the middle of the Pacific!

I’m thrilled to join Impact Dance Adjudicators for the 2022 dance competition season. IDA boasts the only roster in the industry providing professional, experienced, PRE-screened judges to dance competitions nationwide! I danced competitively as a teen and I’m really looking forward to #makingtheimpact with IDA’s clients this fall!

The Big Island IS home and raised me in many ways. I moved here in my mid-twenties and over the last decade I’ve worn many hats within our performing arts community. I’m excited to reimmerse myself into the mainland arts scene and reconnect with my friends and family after the isolation of the pandemic. I will be back often to visit, hike, teach, swim, and rejoice in the power of this place. Mahalo nui loa my ‘ohana.
