Holistic Vocal Training

“I always hated my voice. It wasn’t masculine enough. I didn’t even realize how much I was throwing my speaking voice to try and sound like someone else until I worked with Trusty. I was hiding, but also lost. Trusty created not simply a “safe space”, but a brave one. She invited me to sing, with no judgment. She believed I could and should sing. I am now not only comfortable with my singing voice (and attend karaoke every Sunday night!), but I have started to enjoy my speaking voice too. I am grateful to Trusty for so much more than a series of voice lessons. She helped me be more confident and proud of who I actually am.”

- Dan: film director and actor

Now using patented loop technology from VoiceLessons.com to give lessons with zero lag - I can even offer feedback while you’re singing!

  • One of the most healing frequencies for each and every one of us is the sound of our own voice. Although tiny and hidden, our vocal cords offer us the strength to express ourselves through speech, music, and laughter. They’re small but extremely mighty. Our vocal folds require the support of the entire body to do their thang, and my passion is helping students understand this special process. I work with dads who want to sing in the church choir, I coach aspiring musical theatre actors as they prep for college auditions, and I meet with senior citizens who love music but never had a chance to explore singing themselves. I especially enjoy helping children, women, and trans folx connect with their voice and develop technique that feels unique and true to their needs for expression. Our lessons will be catered to your learning style and your questions about your voice - there is no “one size fits all” when it comes to this vulnerable practice. I may have you start your lesson by moving your body in a strange way or I may ask you to tell me a story. We’ll find exercises that help you understand the resonance of your voice and allow you to explore your range. You don’t have to read music to sing, but I can help you learn if you’d like to know how. Whether you have a big speech coming up, a role in a musical, or you long to feel more confident at karaoke, our work together will empower you with knowledge and technique to last a lifetime. Show up as you are, no matter the mood, and together we’ll make space for exploration and creativity. It would be my honor to patiently guide you through your pursuit of fun and healthy vocalization! Please book a consult today.
